I was hoping that someone had found a trolly jack that would fit, the standard scissor jack is a very poor offer, maybe the older type bottle Jacks that Land Rover use to fit as standard would be a good option. Use to have one under bonnet in a D2 I use to run, only ever used it once, very stable with a good lifting height. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

I have used the standard scissor jack once. It was ok and no worse than any other versions of the type that I've used over the years - the biggest issue was the handle which was pretty rubbish.

I have the a small bottle jack and modified to suit lump of wood under back seat wrapped in a sheet of foam. Fits fine, and foam handy to save suit trousers from interface with muddy verge. The jack came from an old shape L200 Itchypussy. Plenty in scrap yards and because they are hidden behind rear seats and bulkhead often missed. The wheel brace that comes with it is more substantial than the bacofoil land rover option. Other alternative is to buy a rescue/recovery membership and just stay warm while Opo changes wheel 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I recently used the standard scissor jack to change the wheel, no problem but the wheel brace didn't seem sturdy enough to me so I used a more substantial aftermarket wheel brace and now keep it in the boot just in case 2019 BMW X3 2.0i M Sport in metalic black- Brilliant

I'm a man. Unless it's on the side of a motorway in the dark, I'm changing my own wheel thanks. Waiting a couple of hours for someone to turn up to do it isn't on the agenda. Now, if there's a horse trailer involved as well then I can see the benefit of someone else being involved, but for a car tyre? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Oh, somebody is tired! I agree, I would at least attempt to change wheel. And bottle jack is fine on horse box, although make note, you need a separate wheel brace as LR one is too big for Ifor Williams wheel nuts 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Well spotted, so you didn't need a jack either, but i guess it could of been a different story if your tyre had of lost pressure, ie, on the way to the airport etc. I know some will say they have had several puncher's in as many weeks, i think its the luck of the draw. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail springs to mind. |

I carry an air pump in the boot most of the time which is useful for those slow punctures caused by a screw/nail that's still in the tyre. Sometimes that's enough to get you to a tyre place without having to get dirty or wait for a recovery van
