Almost purchased one!

Thought I had found 'the one', unfortunately although listed as a stormer spec eds, it was the based on the 's' model, so didnt even have heated seats! Was an immaculate motor, just dissapointed with the spec, my fault as I assumed it was an HSE, and we all know what happens when you assume Embarassed ! Lesson learned and the search continues!!

It was this:

£28k for a 2.7 with a bodykit? Bloody hell!!

Odd that they mention "stormer" in the heading but nowhere else in the ad. Presumably it's a "hook" to get people looking at it.

But £28k for a 2.7 with a bodykit? Bloody hell! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

The pre-10my Stormer was indeed based on an 'S' specification. The post-10my was based on an SE.

The reason it is expensive is that they've facelifted it to 10my inc new style bodykit. Should have left it as it was if it is a genuine Stormer then it would have had the bodykit (albeit pre 10my).

I've just fully converted my Sport to 2012 Autobiography spec and its ended up costing me an absolute fortune. Way more than I expected.

In my opinion you cant really say its just a 2.7 with a body kit. You can see much more has gone into that car than a 'body kit'

You really need to change the interior aswel if you are going to do the 2012 conversion because that is where you will be sitting. But then it becomes cheaper to buy a facelift model. Wink

A very tidy example even as a base model.

As Scotty said, the 2012 A/B kit isn't cheap, and a 58 plate Stormer would be £24k (with more miles).

As James said though, the mistake these guys made is using a stormer and not something cheaper (ie a base spec S) to convert (unless they've already sold the HST kit for a tidy sum of course). Whistle

/as it now is, an S with 2012 bodykit, then you're talking 24-25k tops RRS gone

To those saying it's way more than just a bodykit - really? Change the front and rear bumpers, front wings, and the various lights. No change to the interior or the mechanicals. Just a change in the exterior look. So a bodykit.

£28k gets you in to a decent TDV8 with all of the bells and whistles or a poverty-spec 2.7 with a few replacement panels. How on earth does anyone justify the latter choice? Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Maybe I'm a little defensive because I've just emptied my pockets on doing the same thing as this guy Laughing

I've probably spent around £6700 on my conversion which includes new interior + new 22" wheels. So if / when I come to sell my Sport (God forbid!!) I would hope to be able to achieve a little over retail?

Knowing all the time / hassle it takes I would say that the above car isn't bad value ... bid him down to 26-27k and I bet that would be a nice example (going off what Abb75 said).

To RRSTDV8: Just remember the likes of Kahn & Overfinch charge serious amounts of dosh for "just bodykits" and all of there cars are the basic SE models.

Just my 2p anyway Thumbs Up

PLEASE add some photos to your gallery, would love to see an updated dash etc, plus any issues you had with the mod would be of use. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

As soon as it is done I'll post a full how to guide with pictures, the interior was a nightmare to do but worth it.

To be fair guys, the car was immaculate, low mileage adn well pampered. I could of drove it away for just over 27k, just couldnt live with the spec. The conversion (all exterior) incl stage 3 colour coding plus brand spanking new 22" Kahn RSLs was completed at a cost of .......£8200 Shocked at a LR approved bodyshop. I understand he was trying to recoup some of his money, just wasnt going to get it from me. Current transport : Audi S4 V8 Cabriolet, Suzuki GSXR600 K1

I think this is the problem with some of these conversions. People think that because they spend £8k then the value of the vehicle is increased by £8k too. Sadly, I doubt that it happens that way very often. Sure Kahn et al do conversions but they have a name to add that people buy in to and that adds value that helps resale. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
