2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

Correct, I believe it is administered by Car Care Plan. However the amount of branding LR does to the policy (check the policy book and documents for one!) mean that in the event of dispute there is a very valid case for having it out with LR customer care in addition to Car Care and ultimately the Ombudsman. Whether someone might think this is an additional comfort or not I don’t know – I do but then again I enjoy a fight with customer care.

The original manufacturers warranty excludes wear and tear too, so this policy is pretty much an extension (the main subtractions being glass and ICE ex-nav cover). The whole wear and tear issue is still contentious. Unless WD including wear and tear means they will replace my brake pads, I’d like to have examples of what they would pay that LR Official Ex won’t. It seems that even bushes are being paid out by LR – but again is a bush failing after 40k miles wear and tear or premature failure? Very difficult to prove either way, but as per first point, depends how much you like a fight!

For me the quasi-official association provides me with ultimate peace of mind when it comes to a dispute and is worth paying a few pounds more for (although I wouldn’t be happy to pay for 2 hours inspection time).

Fair enough! Thumbs Up (I think the bushes have been covered outside the LR warranty as they are well known to be made of cheese.)

There's a post on D3 regarding a failing of the LR warranty. The WD policy would likely have covered this http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic62351.html

As wear and tear cover doesn't require a part to totally fail, I finally went for the WD policy. Wink I believe it's a better bet for higher mileage cars, but of course, each to their own Smile

I paid £520 for the Extra Care policy, 13 months cover, independent garage, airbags & emissions, no betterment, zero excess. The Franchise policy was £625 with the same terms (but you must have your car serviced by LR for this policy)
