Cheers Ady! I checked that site out and got a quote and it worked out £95 a month for that warranty cover. Would it b worth me putting the 95 quid aside myself and then if nothing go's wrong I've saved nearly a grand ova the year?

DON'T go with their first quote, they will be intouch again with you offering you allsorts of deals to get your business, i think my latest offer is down to £635 per year and repairs at a manin LR dealership Thumbs Up

Ady - Who did you ask for the quote, was it a dealer or direct to LR, mine is out of warranty in October and may be worth starting the negotiations now.

My warranty has ran out and I'm in the process of getting quotes.

WD quoted online £788 for independent and £985 for franchised, they have called me back this morning but I was in a meeting so couldn't answer. Hopefully they will call back later and offer a better deal.

LR quoted £890. No room for discount apparently and they want 2 hours labour for a pre warranty check Whistle Has anyone managed to get any discount of this price or get them to waive the 2 hour charge for inspection?

Also is there any way of getting LR (Car care plan) to add Wear & Tear? or is it a no go.
Cheers

I enquired with both warranty wise and warranty direct, warranty wise came out on top, but seen as mine is still in warranty with an independent and i get mine fixed at LR anyway, i don't need a new warranty till november, but if i were you i would stick with LR if you can negotiate a good price, correct me if i'm wrong but i think WD you have to pay for repairs upfront but with WW they settle the bill for you, but with both companies i think you have an excess, Thumbs Up

Well he called back! Thanks to all the advice on this and other threads I managed to get them down to £720 for their luxury Care plan with full dealer cover, 13 months for price of 12 and £0 excess. Thumbs Up

Really good to deal with on the phone and TBH didn't even have to haggle hard. Thank god I'm covered under warranty again Very Happy

Land Rover Extended if you can, ask if you put the car in for a full service at your local LR Stealer, will this suffice regards the 2 hours labour/inspection. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

If that's WD mention DISCO3.CO.UK for more discount. Also get "no betterment" thrown in there. Haggle hard and you will be rewarded. Thumbs Up

PS if you mention RRSPORT they will put the price up as they'll argue if you can afford a butler.... Whistle

Over certain mileage levels they don't cover a slice of the parts bill as you are bettering your car, betterment. Last year paid £55 or so for No Betterment, but got an extra months cover so cheap as chips. With my mileage (81k) it's a no brainer. Mr. Green

Re Warrany Wise, personally wouldn't touch them with a barge pole, plenty of horror stories re their cover D3side. Whistle

Hey, well I've just took cover with the AA, I rang them for a quote and it only worked out an extra 4pound a month on top of my monthly breakdown cover! He asked me if I wanted to take the cover now I said no il think about it and he then nocked off 15% discount to get me to join! So I ditched the stay mobile aswel cos I wudnt need a courtesy car if mine broke down as it's a second car anyway so it now worked out I'm paying 20 pound a month for the warranty cover and my breakdown/homestart cover!! Very Happy I get 5 payouts a year, they pay the first 500quid if it's over that amount of money or if it's under then they pay the lot and I can take it to any garage I want including dealer, the only thing is I have to call them out first to recover me if I want owt fixed which isn't really a problem

I just renewed mine this morning . World of Warranty. £2500 max claim per item. £550 for the year.

I've only had the car three months and with them so far have claimed for a new Steering Rack and Front Diff.

Only problem is I have to make up the labour amount when I send it into Stratstones as they only pay £40 + VAT an hour.

Will keep it a year and see how it goes. But saying as I've already got the email address and direct phone of the Stratstone service lead then I'm sure in a years time I will have his home phone and address if the first three months are an example of things to come !

I do love it thou, beats the Q7 I had.

J

My warranty is due to expire at the end of this month and I enquired at the dealers about an extension, I currently have a car care warranty through inchcape which has covered most major costs this last year, although irritatingly not wiring faults/checks, which having a 2005 car have seemed to be the major cause of my issues Big Cry

I was offered a years warranty through InchCape with Car Care underwriting it, but a tier 2 warranty which mainly covers all major mechanical and major electrical items, but not audio equipment. Including breakdown cover and MOT cover it was £399 for the year. I didn't think that this was too bad.

Now to decide whether or not to keep the car...
