Thats the same size as on a FFRR with 19", diameter is larger, ride will be better, less likely to damage your rims, but the gearing will also be slightly higher so your acceleration will be down slightly, but top speed will be slightly up.

Bit of useless info :- The 50 profile 19" tyres that are already on your vehicle are the same profile as OEM FFRR 20"

What's FFRR?

I ordered the new winter tyres yesterday and stupidly clicked on the wrong size Embarassed . If I can fit them it would be great as they have already been despatched and to send them back would be at my expense. They are also cheaper than the 255/50/19's

255/55/19 is the D3 std 19" size. LR clearly want the RRS to be a more sporty ride in all senses so dropping the aspect ratio gives slightly better acceleration, firmer ride, arguably better looks

Putting 255/50 on a D3 definitely looks too small, haven't ever seen 255/55 on an RRS.... Cheers

Ok, by my reckoning from all the answers on here it will make little difference to me as we are in the mountains and go off road every day just to get home.

your better off with the 55 tyres then as you will have more ground clearance - by a few mm Cool

We had a Disco 2, which was great, but off road in comparison to the RR sport is not in the same league. Lower gearing on the sport gives greater control, especially on icy descents and for rocky terrain. Unfortunatly it does eat tyres Big Cry and that gets a bit expensive.

If you are interested I could sell you four 255/50 R19 Vredestein Wintrac 4 xtreme for say CHF 500.00 the set. There is very little difference between 50 and 55 size and it should be cheaper for you to return the ones you've ordered and get mine...?

They are great tyres and have about 8'000 km on them and still look like new. Let me know if you are interested. I am based near Lake Constance and shipping them to your area should be cheap enough. SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE BUG AND SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE WINDSHIELD
