England 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
VARIOUS ERROR MESSAGES!!!!

Had these error messages come up all at same time:-

TRANSMISSION FAULT LIMITED GEARS AVAILABLE
HDC FAULT SUSPENSION LOWERING
PARKING BRAKE FAULT

This was while travelling at m-way speeds (90ish). The vehicle slows down to 30. I pull over onto hard shoulder, then switch off. Restart and everything ok. But this has happened 6 times in two weeks now.

Car in to stealers today, they tell me its a blocked fuel filter and is common on cars with 28K ish miles. Cos its a fuel filter its non-warranty and will cost c£100

Anyone else have this problem???

(On the plus side just signed up for THIRD FOC LR experience today).

Cheers chaps TDV6 HSE 2007 model, Stornoway Grey, Ivory leather,Privacy glass, Premium ICE Pack, side steps, tasmod sills, now towbar and seat covers

These problems crop up but if it was the fuel filter I doubt that can explain suspension errors. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

similar problems

i get the same warnings when my wife drives my tdv8, nothing to do with her driving, she's great, it is to do with the hand controls that i have fitted (legs do not work well after bike crash). the hand controls are linked to both aceel and brake pedal, slight movements can occure in the brake pedal when using the accel, not enought to stop the car, but to trigger a warning that the brake padals are being applied while driving.
to cure this, i have fitted a spring to help retain the brake pedal in the correct position and so it does not move, this seems to have worked.
be interesting to see what other thoughts people have on this one.

Had exactly the same problem with my 57 plate TDV6. Cruising on the motorway, suddenly a chime and the following warning sequence :

TRANSMISSION FAULT LIMITED GEARS AVAILABLE
HDC FAULT SUSPENSION LOWERING
PARKING BRAKE FAULT

Slowed to a stop on the hard shoulder. Key off, restart and away I went. Must have happened a dozen times after that.

Into my independent garage for a new genuine Land Rover fuel filter and problem solved.

I'm convinced supermarket diesel has a lot to answer for. Shall not be using ever again.

So am I, and round here there is no price advantage over Shell/BP/Texaco to the 2 supermarket fillingstations.
I stopped using sainsbury's fillingstation last year and have used Shell/BP/Jet or Texaco since - I'm getting 2-3mpg better too. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Just to add my two pence worth - often had problems with the EGR valves becoming faulty on my TDV6 always caused by a build up of sticky carbon (anyone else that had to wait for valves to be on back order i apologise i think most of the UK stock has been used on mine !) always used to use Tesco to fill up as it was cheap, convenient and had a supermarket attached to it which may or may not have done great breakfasts Wink - stopped using Tesco and started using Shell 12 months ago and never had an issue with my EGR valves since, like Tim i'm getting more MPG and the car seems to pull more smoothly through all the gears and really flys if i put V power in it. 2005 TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver Ebony Interior Sunroof, RSE, Side Steps

I wonder if you always use supermarket diesel, if every so often you should add a few shots of the Diesel equivalent to what used to be called Reddex to a tankful of tractor juice. I have also stopped using supermarket diesel in my Defender which has the 300tdi engine and what a difference there is in that! No more black smoke on acceleration for a start, cannot say there has been a significant improvement in the fuel consumption like the RRS has shown though Big Cry Big Cry 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

A while ago (can't remember when exactly) Fifth Gear did an experiment on fuel additives and found they made little or no difference. If i recall correctly additives like Reddex work by increasing the cetane value which helps improve the ignition of the fuel - the danger with this is that it's very hard to get the dosing correct in a petrol station environment only accurate way would be to do it on a litre by litre basis.
I'm lead to beleive that the fuel supermarkets have is what is left from the base batch of fuel made by the refinery, whereas once the base batch is made it is then dosed with customer specific additives for the likes of Shell, BP, Esso etc and then further additives are added for Shell V Power, BP Ultimate etc.
I actually find due to increased MPG from using V Power that it is cheaper to run my sport on that than it is to run it on supermarket fuel or normal Shell fuel. 2005 TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver Ebony Interior Sunroof, RSE, Side Steps
