I had something similar... Eventually tracked it down to a 22mm impact socket, which the mechanic had left/dropped behind the front grille. 
Good luck, I hope yours is a 'cheap' to fix.

I was aware of the TR settings but forgot the details around the struts. I kept thinking about the trick dampers on the Evoque.

What's next?
I'd like a 4.4 TDV8 but I don't want AdBlue, so that limits me to a late L322 or early L405.
Alternatively, a 5.0SC L494...
