I have the same issue, it's subtle as hell, my my OCD knows the noise is there. I thought it was torque converter although I haven't had it checked out. Any luck solving yours?

Mines 88 litre capacity, but yeah I guess the gauge shows empty when there's still fuel. No way I'm going to test that theory though!

You could try putting a drinking glass over it and put you ear against it? Might be a silly idea but it works for listening to your neighbors through the wall haha.
