I agree the bottom half goes quicker, I expect part of the reason is, if you let the range go to zero, fuel light on for around 40 miles, gauge at nothing, then filled up, you would not get anywhere near 100 litres in, and the tank is meant to be 105!

Mines 88 litre capacity, but yeah I guess the gauge shows empty when there's still fuel. No way I'm going to test that theory though! 2006 Range Rover Sport 4.2 s/c with Arden bodykit |

You can test it out if you take a container of PETROL and filler with you.
