Insurance Reccomendations..

Hi Guys,
Just remembered my RRS insurance is due for renewal middle Jan so am starting to do my online quotes now.
Am 24, and have 7 years NCB, live in half decent area and have low risk post code, on drive parking overnight, with tracker horizon, with 3 points on license currently getting £628.98 as best quotation so far, thats with protected NCB and guaranteed hire car, and £200 voluntary excess ontop of compulsory. Car insured as worth £40k as i have GAP insurance to top me up to what i paid on invoice for the car.

Thats with Privilege.

Have tried Egg, Tesco, Directline, Asda, Sainsbury's, Norwich Union..
Any more ideas/suggestions, would prefer to do online quotations. All the above are more expensive then privilege or won't quote me.

(direct line own and run privilege, not sure why they come out cheaper then direct line themselves, but hey).

Try Land Rover insurance - it was the best deal I got even 2 months after my £20,000 smash. You also get the added bonus of insurance for offroad use. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

I'm with Liverpool Vic... you could try them. Also, try Elephant - they're often quite cheap but have heard customer service and claims procedure is nightmarish. Both do online quotes.

thanks guys, LV came out to £1200
Am on the phone with LR insurance right now, (who are really royal sun allaince), basically the guy thinks there may be an age restriction on the RRS tdv6 HSE, so has had me on hold for last few mins, ive valued it at £40k.. and all the details as before..

oh, he has just come back and blasted me and said i have to be over 25, despite having 7yrs NCB, oh well guess its looking like privilege for me then..

England 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

I'm with Elephant. They gave me a really cheap quote on the GT3 & allow me to mirror my NCB onto the RRS. I wouldn't say they were that cheap on the RRS but checking around other internet sites, they weren't miles out. they also do not require trackers. They were very pedantic over options, but frankly didn't change the premium that much for them. They are also pedantic over what they will & will not cover. On the GT3 for example with a different interior trim they would have refused to cover the car at all. HSE TD6 (Java Black/Ivory)
911GT3 (Guards Red, carbon interior)
ElanSE (BRG)
Panamera Turbo S
Boxster S

Bloody hell.....just goes to show don't come on here asking for insurance advice!! They are covering my GT3 & RRS for that.

Guess the best advice is therefore shop around. Good luck HSE TD6 (Java Black/Ivory)

I think what is against Kam is that he's one of those young whippersnapper types Wink The rest of us who have broken through the 30 barrier already are obviously getting greater choice... seems to be insurance is generally very expensive nowadays for those under 25. I met a nephew of mine over Xmas who is 21, has been driving for four years and trying to get into his first decent car having owned bangers since passing. He's looking at something really small, but newer. A 206 or a C2 or something and not even the "hot" versions - virtually nobody will touch him or if they will he said the worst quote he had was 4k for a low-end 206.

tried directline again, as they offer a multi policy discount and im on my dads car with them as well as my mum being with them as well on her car, but its still coming out more expensive, 7 something, and im with them right now on the RRS and im sure i paid less then that last year! barstewards.. gonna have to speak to them i think.. privilege it is then..
so for anyone thats exactly the same age as me, has similar history, just cut to the chase and go with privilege, ive exhausted everyone i can think of to be fair.. oh well productive day!

RRS ownership for 1 yr, then D3 for 2 yrs. Then cut back to old bangers and working my way back up through two Peugeots in 6 months. Now got Saab 9-5 2.3t and enjoying the performance!
