Bobby, am I to understand that there are no RR or RRS in your country ??
If so, is it wise to have a car that ,although not having many problems, are still having some, and the garage will be completely in the dark as to how to fix it.
There are many far eastern 4x4 that we have not even seen here in europe, they may not have the same charrisma as a \rrs, but will be very very good.
I admire your paitience for waiting so long. No possibility of you having a direct import from UK if you are RHD, or direct from any LHD country ?

scorpio, no sir. We have lots of them already.

In fact I am currently driving an RR 4.6 HSE, 10 years old. I also have a 2001 Freelander Td4 and a 2002 Disco 2 Td5. Used to have a 1996 Defender too but sold it later.

The problem now is more politics than anything else. Imported cars need an Approved Permit (like as though there's Unapproved Permit!) to come into this country. Recently there has been alot of trouble with this Permits. To list all my thoughts here would be tantamount to treason!!

Anyway, long story short, the importers of LR products here are having trouble securing these Permits. There's a wait and see situation now. They were confident of getting these permits last year (hence our order in April 2005) but somehow hit a snag. Don't ask me what!

The last I heard from the sales people is that LR Malaysia may (operative word here is "may") be able to give us a positive answer before the Lunar New Year, thats about 29th January 2006. If this is true then I will finally know what price on the road the RRS is going to cost me. Add another 2 months for shipping etc., formalities and all the other nonsense - and, Inshallah, I "MAY" receive my RRS by April this year!! One full year of waiting.

Maybe we should start a topic on "The Longest Wait" and see how the other members fared.

Oh yes, VA. You're absolutely right. I can safely say that lots of members here definitely know more about the RRS that the good fellows at our local dealership!!!  Malaysia Boleh!
