I think all the cars that have 20" wheels as standard have a space saver spare, I haven't heard of anybody with a full sized spare wheel who has 20" wheels 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

If a 20 isn't able to fit get a 19 - it'll mean you can go faster & further than with the space saver. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I remember this discussion some time ago - I couldn't find the specific thread, however I'm sure it was confirmed a 20" wont fit in the compartment under the back of the RRS

I think you'll find that the reason they only put a 19 under the back is because of where the stoppers are for the wheel against the car. If you put a 20 under there, the actual wheel is sitting on the stoppers rather than the tyre and i don't think it would take too long sitting under the rear of the car to make some pretty good marks on your alloy |

You are right about the Rubbers on the wheel, but in my case im not worried as i had curbed th ealloy anyway. ST i also noticed that the OE spare looked like a D3 wheel with a sticker on it about the speed, i wonder why as the speed rating is fine on the tyre. some of my Previous cars -------------------------------- P38 Range Rover Autobiography RRS 2.7 HSE Silver RRS TDV8 HSE silver FFRR Vogue black Disco3 HSE silver RRS 2.7 HSE silver RRS 3.0 HSE BALTI BLUE ______________________________ current vehicles RRS 3.0 L494 Autobiography Audi R8 V10 Spyder AC Cobra Landrover Defender 90 Landrover Defender 110 Suzuki Jimney |

Could it be something to do with dynamics................. a (relatively) light alloy on one end of the axle and a heavy steel wheel on the other, could cause problems with the rear part of the 4wd system at higher speeds.

I drove with the space saver for nearly two weeks while I was waiting for the dealers to get me a new alloy. There is no problem whatsoever with the wheel I drove 120,130,140 km/h with the spacesaver wheel on.There was no vibration whatsoever.
