Glass bead blasted Brembos collected today and looking much better !

Popped down to collect them in the TR6 as it had just had an MoT.

Some work to do with a file to tidy them up ready for painting and nice to have a clean component to work with.

Finally got round to painting. Etch primer and then a few coats of satin black. Brembo stickers arrived today and applied and then off to the paint man to lacquer when he tidys up my bumper on Monday.

Looking good.

I went with reflective black vinyl for my Brembo decals. Just something a little different. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Galway Green

Hi everyone.

Having just bought another TDV8 Sport, this time a facelifted 2010, I'm tempted to swap the front brakes for Brembo units. My dilemma is this; originally I was going to go with 4 pot Brembos but do not want to fit anything brake related which is older than the car itself. Most 4 pot units easily predate 2010 and getting ones hands on a pair of calipers from a late car is seemingly impossible.
I stumbled by chance upon a forum chat somewhere that late Supercharged cars use the 6 pot units. This would seem to be the ideal solution as they are both younger and slightly more efficient.
Can anyone confirm if the L405 units and L494 are one and the same thing and that they are the same as the late L320 Supercharged? Thank you!

The six pot calipers are all the same, L405/494 will fit the L320, you will however need the 380mm dia. discs. The SVR 6 pots did have a extra couple of holes/threads on them to bolt a ridiculously expensive carbon fibre shield on them.

Cheers

Thanks Col, much obliged! Whilst here, do the 6 pot Brembo equipped L320 have the same standard rear calipers as all the rest?

Kind regards.

I can't be certain, but I think the rear calipers are the same on all the 10/13 L320's, but on the S/C the carriers are slightly different as the S/C has slightly larger diam. rear discs. The L494 etc. are totally different rear calipers and won't fit a L320.

Cheers

The only L320's with factory 6 pots were 5.0 SC

5.0 SC calipers and carriers (and discs and pads) are different to that of 2.7, 3.0, 3.6, 4.2, 4.4 and 5.0 NA

Thumbs Up
