I will get a photo now

Just checked for you, So look at the push button side positive is the bottom as you look at it plugged in, See my picture mines red as i extended the wiresand used red so that would be your green, I think they should have instructed top wire and bottom when plugged in, Instead of left and right.

Green = right/bottom
Black = left/top

James your red is on the right which is connected to green because it’s extended.

I’m looking at crap jokes rear page picture instructions now, has the lock down bar facing the camera, blacks on left and green on right.

I’ve got it now

Only one minor glitch I’ve noticed is that when switching from normal radio to DAB, which I don’t do very often, the DAB doesn’t come straight on. You need to press the DAB button then switch the radio off and on again. DAB is then automatically selected.

4 or 5 days in and virtually no drop outs, instant reception, lots more channels and great sound quality.

Really pleased with the mod.

The minor glitch can probably be tweaked out using GAPIID and is understandable given I’m using a newer module in an older car and possibly from a different make. Col or Andy K - any thoughts ?

Hi Jonny,

I've just fitted my DAB+ module this morning, all seems to be working and I can actually find more stations now than with old unit.

I have noticed exactly the same as you regarding opening DAB on the screen, whereby I have to turn off the head unit and back on to access DAB.

Also when turning the unit back on I don't get any volume until I move the volume knob slightly, but only on DAB, everything else is fine and audio can be heard without adjusting the volume.

Hopefully someone will come up with a fix but otherwise it's fine.

Many thanks

I've just been out to the RRS and setup the bass, treble etc as they were reset when disconnecting the battery and carrying out a hard reset requested by Patrick from GAP (different issue)

I notice that when turning the head unit off, when DAB was previously selected (ignition off) I could hear faint music. I went around the car and found that the subwoofer was still live and producing sound.

I had to switch on the head unit, change from DAB to normal radio, turn off the head unit and the sub woofer was then silent.

Don't know if anyone else has experienced this at all ?

Many thanks

Not heard the subwoofer but when i turn ignition off, The home screen goes off but Dab radio and sound stays on for a couple of minutes and then goes off, Or dab goes off as soon as you lock the doors. It seems its a syncing issue.

I would guess so, It seems they’re all behaving the same after replacing either the dab module or upgrading to dab + its the same symptoms so some sort of coding/reset must be required so everything syncs up as it did before.

Hello,

Im having the same issues as you guys.............

same symptoms, etc etc.

I checked with GAP iid and it now tells me

DABM-digital audio = no data from ECU.

I guess like others have said we're trying to integrate a newer module to an older car, maybe where the language is different, causing issues.

I did message 'crap jokes' on eBay, who I thought might have an understanding of the situation, maybe because he sells the conversion cables?, but he couldn't comment.

I guess there will be a fix somewhere, but who would be able to help, I like the new channels, but I feel the faffing around now can almost upset the balance of function, especially when driving.

Ive not checked yet if I have sound from the sub after turning off the headhunt, ill check that later.

so far Im 50/50, its the glitchyness now that puts me off, I'm a creature of habit, who might be able to help if the CCF files do need a tweak, would it be worth contacting Patrick at GAP?

If there's conversion cables being sold, there must be a fix somewhere?? maybe the L322 boys have sorted something, unless a clever boffin on here can help?

Cheers Dean

I’ve had a look on the L322 forums the best I can, loads of people suffer the same consequences as we all have, these are posts going back to 2022.

Someone even advised against fitting the L405 module, suggesting it could crash the canbus system???

Just been out there again, the radio if still in dab will continue playing on all speakers in mine, until you arm the car off the key, if there’s not a sufficient fix, I’ll see how it goes, but might end up going back to normal DAB, I’m a sucker for things working as they should and not a bodge.

Be interesting if Patrick at gap has a work around, but according to L322 members, even reconfiguring the DAB settings to rest of world or whatever didn’t make any difference.

Someone find the guy with the golden ticket in the wonka bar!!!

What a pain in the arse!!!!

DAB+

Id contacted Patrick at GAP, who has said that the behaviors from the L405 DAB module cannot be corrected, he is surprised that the module works at all because Land Rover updated the complete entertainment system.

GAP cannot modify firmware's, CCF can be changed via GAP iid, which he said might be worth a shot, but you'd have to try a setting, if it didn't work, to then put it back to its original state as previously seen. That's about your lot really.

I've really been doing my research, I've looked on FFRR forum and everyone on there has drawn a blank as far as I can see, it must be pure fluke that the CPLA-14F720-BM modules work, I guess the L320 system see's the sound etc coming in from the MOST fibre optics, the aerial comes in as previously and is powered up as the old unit was also, its the firmware/software that's causing the glitches in the turning on and off and the sound not being present until the volume is increased.

I did contact a guy (Cameron) in Australia, who said about that he knew the CPLA and DW93 do not work correctly, he suggested for flawless connectivity to use the in2digi D-JV-2, which loops into the MOST system, you can then tell the CCF files that a DAB module is present and it officially works.

I think like you guys have said, I can live with the faff that the new module brings to its integration in the L320 system, because I listen to DAB mostly. Other than that I listen to music via my Invery, which again can play up on occasion.

I understand that the 2010/2011 system can be retrofitted for carplay to be integrated, but that's a good chunk of money to shell out in my opinion.

Not sure of other peoples thoughts and input, but I thought I'd give some feedback as to what I'd found out. Patrick at GAP has said to have a play with the CCF files which I might do, but I suspect it wont change anything.

One final note, I did notice when checking the car with GAP that the DAM module now it not communicating with the car anymore, which is the problem were having I guess. There is mention of satellite radio though on my list as a module, so not sure what that means as we in the UK don't have that function, I think in the USA and Rest of world.

Cheers Dean

As I said earlier L/R do or did a upgrade kit to DAB+ (LR079560) which consists of the module CPLA-14F720 (LR079410) and wiring adapter/plug LR032814 or Jag part no. C2D22599. However this is only listed for Vin No. CA000001 on which I think will be vehicles with the later updated entertainment interface, which might explain why some are having a issue with getting it working correctly.

Cheers

There you go then Col.

I bet the vin CA is the Sport with the later Bosch infotainment system and the earlier Denso’s 2010/11 are not catered for.

My vin is AA.

One question is, can the later system be retrofitted, my guess it’d be a proper ballache!

Would think there would certainly be some wiring modifications needed at least even if it is possible, as the connections on the rear of the Bosch screen are certainly different to the Denso one. Would probably need the later IAM unit as well.

Cheers
Col
