Thanks for going to the trouble of taking the pics etc. Thumbs Up

I've just ordered mine at last - I just couldn't make up my mind, but now it's done. Cool

No problem on the photos.

I do it for any job as I go, helps with re-assembly if I get stuck.

Good luck with yours Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Great work CJ - do you know if they’re available for Denso head units.i think they’re fitted to 09/10 facelift cars.

Mine arrived this morning, but it's been a busy day so I couldn't get out to fit it until this afternoon.

All went OK, powered up and looked good - better than I'd hoped. Trouble is no sound - doh! What have I done?

Stripped it out again, rinse, repeat - still no audio? Rolling Eyes

I wouldn't mind, but I'm an electronics engineer so no excuses. Big Cry

I've left it stripped out again for now as I ran out of daylight. I'll have another go in the morning, it's only going to be something stupid that I've missed - I hope . . .

I wonder if you’ve done the same as Captain jack and left a usb stick in the centre console?
Just a thought.
Mines a different model so I wouldn’t be much help really.

Colin…

Hi T

Make sure your phone is disconnected from the cars original stereo system.

then connect the bluetooth through the setting icon on the new carplay screen.

also turn the volume up on the actual phone that's another one I learnt.

Hope these points help

CJS Thumbs Up

No, not a USB stick. Very Happy

I didn't disconnect from the old system though Jack. I shall be heading out to commence battle once again in a minute, so I'll let you know.

Thanks for the comments chaps. Thumbs Up

I couldn't get sound on mine without hard wiring phone, however just switched settings on factory unit to AUX and changed carplay wifi setting to 149 (5G) and now have sound Very Happy

Connecting initially with the cable had been my plan this morning, but as luck would have it I didn't need to.

I deleted the BT connection memories from both the car and the phone, then started again with the unit first - (still no audio) and then the car - Bingo! We have sound. Thumbs Up

I'm really pleased with it, using Google Maps is so much easier than the dinosaur system that's standard. I wouldn't mind, but I paid to upgrade that and it was still utter crap.

Now the voice recognition and control is so much better I don't have to pull over to make any changes like I did before. Cool

I did the same… About £100 and 3 hours to upgrade the built in nav maps, the time and money would’ve been much spent installing CarPlay in the first place.

Glad to hear you’ve got it all up and running.

On a side note, has anyone noticed an occasional stutter while streaming music from phone?
