Sadly the 2007 models are very susceptible to this. So I wouldn’t doubt it.

I had this many years ago on my 2007 L320, the cambelt tensioner lug snaps off the oil pump casting resulting in loss of cam timing. Mine required new pump, new cams (as the lobes had spun) and cam chains. All valves were OK as they tend to snap the camshaft cap bolts when the pistons contact the valves, so at least the heads didn't have to come off, just lots of cam cap bolts!

Very! I'd get it changed as soon as possible or definitely if you have the cambelt changed. The general consensus is you're on borrowed time! |

As far as I am aware all pumps up until MY2008 were of the weaker design. No real symptoms until it fails and you have piston to valve contact and a big bill to sort it out.

I changed the cambelt myself and knew that some of them snap the casting when refitting as the bolts were too big. Oil pressure light goes off soon enough when starting. It was the original belt that was one when i changed it a couple of months ago |
