The forum has plenty of examples of people finding insurance premiums going up in to the thousands. And it's not just RRS either - other makes are also suffering for various reasons e.g. old Honda Jazz that some companies won't now insure because the cats are easily nicked. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I know they’ve gone through the roof, but it’s literally doubled across the board in the last 2 months for me and nothing has changed.

I've tried a few insurers today (LV, Aviva etc.) for a new 2024 RRS I was about to order.

Yeah I’m much the same, I knew it was bad but it seems to have got even worst over the last couple of months. They’ve got a major problem now, I can see most people who don’t have the money to buy the car outright cancelling as adding £300/£400 to the finance payments is becoming something that’s very hard to stomach. |

Nah, pretty soon Range Rovers are going to be cheap as so many will be on the second hand market thanks to the insurance issue. Which means people that buy cars rather than rent them will be able to pick up very nice vehicles for very much reduced prices. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

I think it will hit second hand values hard, my quote is 2.5k that’s ok on £100k car but not at 50k. Based on latest press does seem prices unfair equivalent cayenne for me is £850 |

A replacement value of £50k for the same theft risk ought to result in a lower premium than the same car at £100k. But this is the insurance mafia we are talking about.

Yep I've also been told the same, but if you are an existing client with a good relationship and lots of other products then they will consider adding a new RR onto an existing policy (subject to risk level) |

I was with a decent broker; Chris Knott who did the best deal for a pair of high end mercedes beating the comparison sites, as soon as i said i am buying a 2024 Range Rover sport he said the insurer i am with Highway (LV) don’t insure 4x4’s ! He then went to market and the “best” deal was Sabre @ £5k The only other quotes I've had are Admiral £1,250 and Land Rovers product @£3k. No one else will quote. Adrian Flux didn’t even bother to quote just asked me the best i’ve had so far and told me they won’t get anywhere near that. Aviva, Direct Line, and Hastings all declined to quote. Feel like i’m 18 all over again getting turned down, i’m mid 40’s FFS! |
