Have you tried The LR insurance, see what they churn out

Also theres the potential to get a £150/ month contribution but when i looked into it neither the dealer nor LR insurance knew how to get the discount. You may have more luck with your retailer!

Geeez i feel for you, £7k is savage.

Have you tried a different postcode and see if its thats causing it?

You could buy a landrover magazine and they’ll be specialist LR brokers in the ads that may be able to give advice / better quote?

A car worth say £10k can be insured for maybe £1k - a tenth of it's value.
A car worth say £80k can be insured for maybe £5k - a sixteenth of it's value.

Is there some correlation here ?

I agree to some extent, as there should be some correlation based on the cars price, however you are also paying for the risk of you crashing into someone.

Eg. You could be driving a £500 shed and crash into a car of premiership footballers and end their careers, that is going to be some claim! You can do that in any value of car.

The insurance market has dramatically changed over the last year, and all of us are getting rinsed, and have seen our premiums rise.

The cynic in me says car ownership will only be for the wealthy in the future and turning the cog on the price of everything is one of the levers.
