Go through the adjustment procedure again and make sure everything is where it belongs. Screeching means it’s getting near the end of the shaft. The later screech is the brake applying more pressure since it’s not tight enough.

Yes, your spot on. I've got the brake Bible all ready. Just wish I had a big enough garage to get it done. I no great rush I suppose. |

Think I read a guy in the states was quoted $3,500 by a dealer for front and rear brakes on an L405 (not the disc/drum rear setup we have).

Nah, just the shoes. I changed the pads and discs about 14 months ago and only travelled 3k in that time. E brake may just want cleaning up and adjusted. |

A clean and adjust would be fairly easy to do and realistically all it needs (unless a shoe lever is seized or other such calamity). Is the parking brake making noise when you set it? 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

Yeah occasionally. I've bought the shoes and fitting kit etc. It creeps sometimes aswell so I suspect the arm. |

If it’s squealing/creaking when you set it, stop using the parking brake till you get it addressed. Otherwise your future post will be about finding the emergency release which probably won’t work and then about cutting the cables to get it mobile. Then about how hard is it to rebuild/replace the EPB module.
