Play in steering wheel

My 2012 RRS, I have a small amount of play in the steering, barely detectable except for slightly bumpy road surface at low speeds.
I have new ARB bushes and bottom arms.
Can feel a very slight play when wiggling the wheel at standstill but nothing much at all. best to look at lower shaft or track rods?

Wheel bearing? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Could it be play in the rack, especially if big wheels have been fitted at some point. The indie I use has said so much as to cars being blinged at some point in their ownership. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

I'd check for play in the lower steering shaft.

I had similar in mine, replaced with an 'OEM' new one, didn't make much improvement. Then, having seen number of posts about non originals, I replaced it with a genuine LR branded one and now tight as a drum, no play whatsoever. 2010 TDV8 - current - my first RRS, loving it so far......
2005 Cayenne S - handling defied physics and what a sound, so sod the mpg!
1995 Disco TDI- surprisingly reliable, shame about the peeling dash & other trim
Lots of other non 4X4's in between times.........

Funny that. I've recently had the lower shaft replaced (found as part of another issue) and the steering feels much better. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Sorry dont follow this ..you want someone in the car to rock the steering while you get underneath and feel for play....just like they do in the MOT Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.

Learned to 4x4 on 100 mile beach and Frazer Island QLD
Dont spend money on old cars you will never get it back
