I suggest having a good read through the Disco3 thread mentioned before.
There is a heap of info in there.
Basically you will need a CH341A Eeprom reader. I would use one that has switchable voltage like this one
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001120167630.html

There are much cheaper ones but you will need to modify them for 3.3v and to be honest... for A$20 it just wasnt worth the hassle or grief (yes I killed 2 of them in my attempts to solder tiny little connections)

And you will also need to get an SOIC8 adapter+ SOP8 clip with cable. Get the best quality one you can get as the clip makes a big difference in getting a good read on the chip.

There is plenty more info in that thread... read it from front to back and then the other way around... then if you are still interested in doing the conversion you will have more questions Smile

Thanks Andy, Have been through it a couple times already, I cant get a handle on it. I am comfortable with what I need, and I know its possible with my car (2012 spec) albeit slightly different programming needed to James's 2010. the physical install is ok with me too. I'm just nervous on the programming. I have tried to message James as he's quite local but his posts are quite old so I suspect he's no longer in the LR scene.
My other option is to ask someone to help remotely via teams without paying over £200 (that I have been offered by a fellow site member!!) for the help or if I can send both clocks for the software mod - albeit I wont have a car for a few days.
Happy to pay Beer tokens Very Happy

If your clocks are like these ones (for an L320) then the process is exactly the same.https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/115743390506?fits=Year%3A2012%7CModel%3ARange+Rover+Sport&hash=item1af2d7fb2a:g:nukAAOSwRdJkHnpe&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4Ih9kJlET99CRXnatTGwO%2BU%2BD7qSK1yC4SoA6EO8swGXuUB9WA5JdFgyaUvU8x%2FdavB2e4g2G1J%2FVJcyECaFvfnb%2FXQwAl00agAR3IImsWoUevozBcsraq4t2QjHqzPS4ptZLfJP39zv5%2BX76GtNilB2FZD4BUXSS%2FLUa3VH8ixU1ODSUvTfncgMjLzE6s5dDcGS5RWPcKfT2Od9Uce43KOs8qlIFeQuSKtxA%2FCZhAqeBNbovApAkFCl%2F9ZrMhfrEqRaHB8FTctdX67CWHgKQ2qGlFZ4EfELwnKZ7mQpf0Ox%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR7CK6rfzYQ

Hi Andy,

After reading through your posts and others on this thread and the one on DISCO3, I've decided to try this myself.

I've got a digital cluster coming tomorrow from a L322 and also the programmer etc.

No doubt I'll be asking questions, but before starting this I noticed that the terrain mode display on your dash only displays 5 modes and not the dynamic mode. Does this scroll to show the other mode ?

Many thanks

My RRS doesnt have DSC so maybe that is the difference... the screen does show when HDC comes on and off as well as Command Shift (if you use it). So I cant help you on Dynamic mode question but my guess would be it will show it.

Hi folks, wonder if you can verfiy this for me. I've just taken a chip reading from the tft dash prior to any other work, does this look correct, top half and bottom half nothing much inbetween:

Many thanks

That looks to be OK compared to mine, the next step is to get your Original Dash out, find the correct chip and grab that code.

Well done.

Thanks for the confirmation Andy, much appreciated.

Yes the next step is to remove my cluster and read it, then refit and do a few miles then read it again 2010 RRS 3.6 TDV8 HSE Galway Green

Hi Craig,

I must admit I didn't get the time this weekend but hope to do this soon. You may get yours completed before me.

Many thanks

Well I have taken the .bin file successfully from the L322 unit, so i have caught you up.
Ill take the clocks out from the L320 over the weekend and do the same with them. I just want to be a little more confident in what data I need as I dont want to have to put the old clocks back in and out again, id rather try and get the swap done in one.
Thanks to AndyCHO I have gotten this far and he has helped with what lines to swap. anm I right in saying that the 4 data lines to swap are the Vin, Mileage, Immob?

VIN, dash type, immo, mileage.
However, I've read elsewhere (and for the life of mine I can not find where) that if VIN and mileage are correctly set, it is possible to fill the immo part using SDD and immobiliser re-coding procedure. Don't quote me on that just yet, but if this indeed worked, it would take a lot of guesswork out of the equation.
Dash type is then just a walk in the park, since the car can start with the wrong dash type. Regards etc.,

Wojtek
