Turbocharger turbine inlet valve control / sensor circuit

I'm getting the following faults:
P22CF-71 - Turbocharger turbine inlet valve control circuit - Open
P22D4-13 - Turbocharger turbine inlet valve sensor circuit

Symptoms are:
1. Car drives fine but goes into Restricted performance if you hit around 2,800rpm.
2. While idling in N, if you hold it at about 4,000rpm for 15 seconds or so, it goes into Restricted performance.

My understanding is that the issue is probably one of:
1. 2nd turbo inlet valve (recirculation valve) stuck or defective.
2. Leak in one of the air lines running to the valve.

Just posting in case I might have missed something or gotten something wrong.

I have two questions. Please remember I don't pretend to know much about this, at all...

The silver hose / pipe marked with the star is loose.
Could that be relevant? I read a similar thread where a 3-way joint at the back of the engine was the cause.

The valve / actuator that the fault is referring to, on the 2nd turbo.
Is it buried down here?

-Thanks...

the other reason that may be happening is a crack in the plenum cover
mine had a crack on the right hand side one and had to replace
pull away the rubber covers on each side to see if there is any oil
alternatively have a friend rev the crap out of the car and listen for air to escape when it hits over 2500 revs

I had this on mine was a simple fix, follow the vacuum pipes on drivers side to back of engine, there is a Y joint in pipe, mine was broken, found out when I tried to pull apart to test vacuum and it fell apart, replaced with a new joint fixed instantly! Hope you have the same luck

Thanks for the replies.
1. The covers should be fine. I’ve just spent a small fortune on the car, including two new intake manifolds. This remaining fault only came to light when the recent work was done. It was being masked by the damaged intake manifold.

2. Does anyone know what the pipe is for that it’s highlighted in my pictures.

3. @raysunners I previously read your helpful post on this subject. I couldn’t locate the Y joint you refer to. Would you have a picture showing its location, please?

Sounds like they've left a vacuum pipe off

That pipe pictured is a fuel pipe, and unrelated

With those codes, you've either a seized TSOV, vac fault, or faulty solenoid

Given that the vac pipes have just been off to have the manifolds done, I'd start there 👍

Thanks @Disco_mikey.
The mechanic noticed this fault after doing the other work, so you'd hope he'd checked the vac pipes.
If I can find the Y joint that @Raysunners referred to I'll have as much of a check as I can.
Another poster sent this pic, I think this might be the Y joint in question?

I understand it's difficult to get to the TSOV so most likely it'll have to go back to the mechanic.
Best case scenario is probably that that the valve is just stuck or something like that.

Sorry I don't have any pictures, the joint was right at the back by the vacuum pump, there are two pipes coming off the pump, one goes to the brake servo and the other has the joint in going across to the other side of the engine
