With the info from all with the same problem I started looking at the vacuum lines that control the turbo gate valve
I found the plastic T piece that supplies the turbo gate valve had cracked reducing vacuum pressure.
please see pics below
I replaced the plastic one with a brass one as i don't want to see this again

Stand in front of the car, to the left, facing the steering wheel.
See at the back of the engine bay, closest to the steering wheel, there's a plastic cover under the windscreen wiper. There are air lines running in there and across from there towards the right. Check them, particularly the joints. The plastic connectors can get very brittle over time and are likelier to be leaking that the hoses themselves.

Honestly though mate, I was in the exact same place as you this time last year. I hoped for a win, i.e. to find a leaking hose rather than a leak in an intake manifold but no such luck. I found a broken hose and replaced it but the fault remained. I took the MAF sensors out and cleaned and tested them, to no avail. I arsed around for ages and eventually made my own smoke machine, tested and as expected, saw smoke coming out of an intake manifold. Cracked manifolds are very common and unfortunately that's probably what you're looking at here, though you never know.
They're a pain to get at too, so if you do have to replace then replace both the left and right ones.

Here's a link to one of the many threads in the FB group about failed intakes.

@pomistea did you have the same error codes? i.e. p22d2 and p22cf? and in the end were the broken intake manifolds to blame?

Hi-

Yes. The left intake manifold was cracked, air (boost pressure) was escaping through it and this was causing the error codes and putting the car into Restricted Performance.
I replaced both intake manifolds and the car has been running perfectly since.

I think the only way to be certain is if you get it smoke tested. I was able to make one that just about worked well enough for me to see smoke coming out of the side of the intake manifold.
