New Battery

Big Cry New battery time. For the last week I have been getting the "Low Battery" message. It has been on Ctek MXS 5 but still getting the same message. Voltage with nothing on varies between 11.8 to 11.5 Yesterday while on Ctek 4 lights came up then the red light came on. Going by the manual if the red light comes on at stage five, it says the battery is not holding a charge & may need replacing.
Anyway started looking, came across Tayna batteries. Has anyone used their Enduroline battery. decent price & 5 year warranty Range Rover Sport (gone): Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe: 992 Porsche Carrera 4S: Range Rover Fifty P400e

Exide is in it just now. Reason for changing makes is that battery is on year 4, but only a 3 year warranty Big Cry Enduroline & Bosch which was my other thought has 5 year warranty. Car is not being changed any time soon
Disco, any particular reason for Exide?? Range Rover Sport (gone): Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe: 992 Porsche Carrera 4S: Range Rover Fifty P400e

The rest of them are Censored Laughing

Bosch rarely last more than 18 months, and will usually only warrant 1 single replacement

Enduroline don't make the claimed CCA ratings, and don't last long either

4 years for an Exide isn't great though. I've an Exide in my TDV8 for 3 years, never on a trickle charge, used rarely, but still going strong

I run a Bosch S5 on my TDV8 it seems happy enough after 3 years. I don't drive the car every day.

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Bali Blue

I've used Tanya a few times,, used the enduroline battery twice on the RRS,,, lasted less than 4 years first time and less than 3 years last time. Went with Tanya again as there service and price are good,, but went with Yuasa this time with 5 year guarantee,,, and not much more than the enduroline. 2010 RRS, TDV8

I fitted a Varta AGM from Tanya prior to shipping car to NZ, Over six years now and still going strong and starts first time, although low battery warning does flash up occasionaly now.

Forgot to check if you had answered, & got my order in today before they closed. Went for Enduroline Whistle , well just have to see how it goes. Was pretty Censored with Exide with just being out of 3 year warranty. I use the Ctek a lot as I have the comfort connector just inside the front valance. Its an instinctive thing just to connect it up, so the battery is never depleted even though the car is not used much. Range Rover Sport (gone): Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe: 992 Porsche Carrera 4S: Range Rover Fifty P400e

Running a Varta AGM as well, I think it’s a G14 silver dynamic. No issues with over two years of use. Volt meter still showing 12.8v each morning. Used it in -18° to +35°, runs the timed heat/vent twice daily, never any starting issues. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

Yeah, it is the G14 I fitted as well, not the cheapest but as said been good for six years and still going strong, wouldn't bother fitting anything else.

Cheers

It's worth remembering that a battery can show 12.7V (fully charged) but have a low charge capacity. The CCA of the battery decreases over time so a new 850A CCA might be down to 500A (or worse) after a few years. Recently had a new battery fitted because even though it showed c.12.7V, the CCA was well down. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I've had a Tayna battery on my X5 for nearly 5yrs no trouble. The Range Rover (same type) has a Duracell battery that's been on 4yrs but is ok. Gone are the days when you could pop the small caps off and top them up..
I do have a ctek too that I sometimes put on the X5 as it does a lot of short journeys.

My TDV8 only goes on very short trips (2-11km) so I have to use my CTEK several times a week. My current battery has lasted 7 years.
I fitted a bluetooth battery monitor which continously monitors the battery voltage and will alarm when the battery voltage drops to a certain value especially when the car starts.
