Hi all, any help would be appreciated.
So my 2007 TDV6 2.7 is running really rough smoking very badly and I have an error code P0269 Cylinder 3 contribution / Balance (10-null)
Does anyone have any ideas? And which is cylinder 3 that the fault refers to?

Cylinder 3 is the rear cylinder on the right hand bank when sat in the car looking forward (driver's side in a RHD car).

- Cylinder leakage past the injector
- Cylinder leakage past the glow plug
- Mechanical fault, valve, piston/ring, etc

Action:
Check the injector and surrounding area for evidence
of fuel leakage. Disconnect the injector and check for
evidence of fuel leakage in the connector. Rectify as
necessary. Clear the DTCs. Reconnect the injector and
start the engine. Allow to warm up to above 60°C
(140°F) and allow to idle (cylinder balance diagnosis
is now active). If the DTC resets, check for blow-by
etc and rectify as necessary. Clear the DTCs and
recheck. Carry out a compression test only if the DTC
resets. If the above tests are all within range, install a
new injector.

So, I had a look around the top of the engine to see if I can see any issues with the injectors and I can't see anything wrong. Started it up and ran it and lots of white smoke and running rough. I cleared the codes, checked to see if I could see any issues from the top of the engine and nothing. Checked codes again and it has changed now to P0275 Cylinder 5 Contribution/Balance.
I took her out for a drive ran her upto temperature and she drove absolutely fine no problems no power loss and when I got back home no smoke at all and running fine as if there was no problem at all. I parked her somewhere different on a clean patch and went back to her an hour later and there was a small wet patch underneath in the area near the back of the engine. I will run her later this afternoon again to see if the smoke is back at start up and update this.
Anyone have any ideas what this could be?

So, update,
I booked her into the local indy and he has come back to me with the below list of faults.
High pressure fuel pump leaking from cracked case
Possible injector failed but can't tell for definite until the fuel pump is fixed.
Battery light staying on despite new alternator.
Rear upper arm bushes worn.
Ball park figure of £3000
After just paying £2600 to have the engine put in when do I stop?

Any body have any ideas what it would be worth as it is? It is a 2007 2.7 @ 120k on the clock.

Oh that’s a bit unfortunate indeed. I suppose it’s bad luck the case has cracked after the engine was fitted and could the battery light be because of a failing battery and not the Alternator. Bushes are a wearable item and again just bad timing after spending a pile of cash. Are you confident in the indie?, think about T&S Norman not too far away if you have any doubts and make a decision. Keep us updated though. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.
