RRS TDV8 2009, has anyone done a retrofit of powered open and closed tailgate?

I'd avoid retrofitting a powered boot - my SDV6 has it as standard and it's not without it's problems, with an annoying habit of unlocking but then not lifting. Manual opening is definitely better. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Only problem I've ever had with mine is the external tailgate switch not releasing a couple of time, and that seemed to be something to do with the ambient temp, the self closing mod has never been a problem since fitting 8 years ago.

Mine 'pops' open but I want it to lift from remote and ideally close from
remote
or button on tailgate.

I deconverted mine from powered to manual changed struts out. It kept misbehaving. Remote dash release works still. Its really light anyway, powered struts were there just for pose value imho and never needed.
