"Try Adrian flux"

The most unhelpful insurance company** I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.

& that goes for their approved repairers too.

My renewal quote from Direct Line Select was over £850.00 - NFU came in at a tad over half that for the same cover.

Had some quotes and some are silly money.

Question is I have two main street providers that are under £1000. One will not insure at the £85k value of the car but if I lower the value to £75k its coming out at £460. Any ideas of the consequence in an accident? Will they only pay out £75k in total loss claim?

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

Truth is insurers never pay out what the value is on signing policy, as the car will have been devalued with use (so they will say).

I had an 'agreed value' on a car with General Accident in the 80's, it still took 3yrs 5mnths to get it sorted, and by then then it was impossible to find a replacement due to the limited amount built.

You could always buy GAP insurance.

the response from AXA is that you cannot do that as you're under insuring your vehicle... what i dont understand and the women on the phone was as wet as a used kleenex, is thats my choice. the insurance covers the finance so i would potentially lose 10-15K

Has anyone called LAND ROVER INSURANCE, I called to enable the 7 day drive away insurance on my new Sport, I was informed by Land Rover Insurance that they will only offer a 24 hr drive away police, to cap it all they informed me that Land Rover Insurance will NOT insure a new RR Sport Laughing Rolling Eyes

The ‘same price for any car’ affinity* car insurance scheme that my employer provides will not accept Range Rovers unless they are garaged overnight! I suspect very few people garage a SUV on a regular basis. I was told that c.3,750 RRs were stolen last year, of which only 1 in 4 were recovered (facts that I have not sought to check). Says a lot about both the desirability of the cars and their security systems.

Due to LR’s inability to ship me a car, I am currently out of my RRS2 and into a Cayenne, which is group 50 but was still accepted onto the affinity scheme. I have an RRS3 on order, but will need to get comfortable that it is insurable for a sensible premium before I go ahead … although I don’t expect to have to make that call anytime soon given the supply issues.

[* I use the affinity scheme as I have zero no claims bonus, as I had company cars for many years until I opted out in March this year. This affinity scheme insures a lot of fancy metal, which makes the RR policy all the more disappointing] Current: Cayenne GTS (got fed up with waiting for LR to build my third RRS)
On order: RRS3 510e AB
Gone: RRS SDV8 AB, RRS SDV6, Vauxhall Nova 1.0, Nova 1.3 SR, Nova 1.4 SRi, Renault Laguna (why?), BMW 318is coupe (fabulous - despite having to buy a radio and tape player for it from Halfords), 323i saloon, 325ti compact (superb), 320td compact (awful), VW Golf 2.0d 4Motion (all the car you really need), BMW 120d compact (excellent), 118d compact (slow), 335d coupe (rapid)

It is hilarious that Land Rover will not insure its own cars, RRSports have always been desirable even if they are not owned by the drivers Lol, it shows what confidence Land Rover have in their tracking system Lol.

NFU has made a new policy last month.

If your car is registered within the last 5 years and is a range rover sport they are not interested to offer.... unbelievable

Well they quoted on one for me a couple of days ago. But it does seem to require that you already have a policy with them

Something to do with the 490 Range Rovers stolen in February 2023 alone…

It’s safer for an insurer currently to cover a 17 yr old male than a Land Rover product at the moment!

For those who are relying on the standard alarm/ tracking system to protect their car I’m afraid these are bypassed in seconds. You need to fit secondary immobilisers and tracking systems above and beyond the standard system.

Kent have just released their crime figures and car theft in Sevenoaks has increased 975% in the last year!

I've been watching the cost of insurance raise in recent months whilst I've been waiting for my new P440e AB to arrive. Last Nov the quote from Go Compare was £900, with no convictions or speeding, max NCD, in a locked garage at night and living in rural Norfolk.

This week its £1,700 and if I want EU cover its jumps to nearly £2,000. Its just unbelievable that RR has not fitted a good immobiliser like a Ghost to keep cars safe.

I have now cancelled my order for the RRS and going for the new Cayenne, its less than £1,000 to insure for the same value and will arrive in 3-4 months
