Dealer putting after market oil filter in

Had the 2009 RRS 2.7tdv6 serviced at the main dealer's the last 5 years since i have own it, today thought i will do the service myself as now to expensive for them to do, took the oil filter out and it has Ryco R2662P and 2011 at the bottom, the dealers are supposed to use genuine parts so i thought, one thing i did notice when i got it back from last service the oil light took around 5 seconds to go previously 3 seconds. will see how long it take for the oil light goes out 2morro. the filter i am now using are MAHLE which are i thing German and are OEM filters, what you think.

I always order genuine L/R parts direct from the UK even with shipping they work out cheaper than buying from main dealer here, always order enough filters etc. to cover two or three services makes it a bit more economical. Have had DHL deliver within 5 days. Never been a fan of aftermarket filters although probably nothing wrong with them as a lot are reputable manufactures who are o.e. supplier anyway. Just prefer to pay twice the price for a fancy L/R box. Laughing

Cheers

Done that myself ordered from Rimmer Bros in the UK, I've Changed the Air and Pollen filter genuine something less for dealers to charge me for, being a qualified mechanic but finished with the spanners 15 years ago i will have to dig out the spanners again.
So today did a service and changed the front brakes pads, the Independent Land Rover garage charged me only $49 for OEM oil filter, Ryco wanted $72,
The guys i will be dealing with now for parts will www, Carisma Cars, Dunedin

Might give them a try for parts next time see how they compare. Thumbs Up Main dealer up here wanted $700.00 for rear door latch/lock, genuine L/R one delivered to my front door from U.K. $300.00

Cheers
