No, the SCV8 is pretty bulletproof. The only issue you will have is paying for the petrol because of the permagrin caused by a heavy foot |

I do hope it's the one at the front of the engine, and not the heater one at the rear of the engine. I think it is referred to as the heater X over pipe or possibly manifold.

It's the one that sandwiched between the engine block and the supercharger, so quite a big job labour-wise.

That picture is not relevant to a RRS2 S/C because it is pipe LR018275 from a 5.0L Naturally Aspirated Engine as fitted to the D4, RRS1 etc. Don't think they ever fitted the N/A engine to the RRS2 unless it was for a specific market but wouldn't know. N/A to the Left, S/C to the Right, as the S/C pipe consists of two parts wondered if it is remotely possible to replace it without actually removing the Supercharger, think it would be worth a try as couldn't be any worse off if it didn't work, would think if the heater manifold one at the rear of the engine had to be replaced would certainly have to remove S/C. ![]() Cheers Col |

That's rather odd, do you have the part number for the one piece pipe? as L/R are still listing it as two pieces, if I read it correctly the original part numbers LR050935 & LR050934 are saying no longer available although they are available as pattern parts i.e Britpart. one number LR050934 does appear to supersede to LR090630 the other part that goes with that is LR092992 but that is for later cars, so not sure if that half will fit earlier cars though. Not having seen a new pipe I did wonder if it means still in two parts but each bit was moulded as one piece as opposed to what looks a bit like two halves bonded together.

but tbf, I just told my indie to replace the crossover coolant pipe, and they knew exactly what to do, since they'd seen many such failures. --

Just do the oil and filter change when the service tells you and you will be ok. The algorithm estimates when fuel dilution has reached the level when the oil needs changing. |
