Smoke From Offside Wheel Arch

Driving home this evening and I noticed whenever I was coming to a standstill there was some smoke coming from the drivers side wheel arch.
Pulled up at home and got out to look. Kept engine running, first few seconds there was nothing then it started to appear again. But can't actually tell where it is coming from.
Aslo noticed a slite humming sound at idle, too. Not sure if that is related, but I don't think that was there till now either.

I read about smoke from the passenger wheel arch being some sort of heater, but this is on the opposite side.

Any ideas???? 2010 RRS 3.0 TDV6 HSE

I had read about the heater, but I'm led to believe that is on the passenger side. 2010 RRS 3.0 TDV6 HSE

I know that the TDV8 has the FBH on the nearside wheel arch,, and vents to the same side. I think the 3.0 V6 engine has the heater on the drivers side,, and I'm guessing it will vent to that side also. 2010 RRS, TDV8

On completion of your journey, carefully touch the centre of the wheel near to the brake disc. If it's really hot compared to the rest it may be a sticking or seized caliper. If it is it needs sorting quickly or your disc will warp.

Will check that tomorrow.
Now you mention brakes, the smell was very similar to brake fluid, too. 2010 RRS 3.0 TDV6 HSE

Well, an update... kind of.

Got it booked in to a local garage.
They checked everything out and said there was no problem at all with the brakes and everything is moving freely. They tested the brakes where they do MOTs. And also took it out to see if anything happens, too, as well as getting it on a ramp to have a look.

It also didn't smoke or anything since that 1 time on Thursday night.

So I guess it is now just a case of seeing if it happens again. 2010 RRS 3.0 TDV6 HSE

The exhaust points towards the drivers side.
So it blows under the front of the car when still

This was only from the drivers wheel arch though. Nowhere else.
Also had a smell of brake fluid to it. 2010 RRS 3.0 TDV6 HSE

Hi,

not sure if you can do a test run from the IID (would expect so) as I used the webasto software
but raise it up into offroad mode and run it if you can then watch underneath and smell to see if its the same,
the exhaust IS on the n/s but can blow and drift under all the car, some vid you can not even see the car Laughing

also if you get the symptom again check the exit of the fbh exhaust (carefully!) to see if its even running again to rule it out.

potentially brakes or fuel leak anything wet under the bonnet Shocked

I didn't think brake fluid had a smell.

The heater exhaust has a smell though. Paraffin or kerosene like
