Checked my 2012 RRS 3.0 SDV6 on Friday, and it has just dropped to the first level down on the electronic gauge.
How much would you add to take it back upto the full level but not overfill?
I've bought a Litre of Castrol Edge Pro 5w 30 C1 grade.

Third of a litre should do it no more

Its approx 1L between minimum + maximum levels on the display, 125ml(ish) per division

First point: Believe Disco Mickey he knows what he’s talking about.
Second point: Take another reading and if says “OK” then don’t add any oil.
Overfilling is bad. One div down is not.

Agreed. I wouldn't try to top up on one division. Too easy to overfill it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

^ yep, only add oil when the car tells you to, I've seen what happens to a Disco4 with oil overfill and it wasn't pretty nor cheap to fix --

Mike, is it 1L on all models, or is this specific to the SDV6?

I tried but didn't find a reference in the workshop manual. --

At what point will the vehicle warn to add oil?
Half way between min and max, or when it gets to minimum?

The car doesn't warn you when the oil is low

Mine is on halfway Mark and I was wondering whether to add oil or not. Not happy that it won’t warn me to add so will attempt to add 125ml per division (less 125ml to be safe!) 2010 3.0 TDV6 HSE Luxury - Santorini Black - First RRS and lovin’ it

At halfway, I would add oil, but do it in 125ml increments and check after each addition.

btw, where is the oil level sensor located? I parked on a slight incline (engine facing down), and I saw a 2-level drop in oil, but at home, with the barest of incline (also engine facing down), only one level.

should I not bother topping up with only one level down? --
