You might benefit -reduce the risk- from oil changes every 6000 mls with the right oil 5W30 WSS–M2C934–B. (a so called C1 oil) RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Lux RRS 3.0 TDV6 gone LR 3 HSE V8 gone DiscoveryII V8 Gone Discovery 1 V8 Gone Mustang Shelby Alfa Guilia (classic) |

There is no evidence that more frequent oil changes help at all. It is more important to keep a healthy oil level Joined the X5 45e club

There seems to be a relationship between the right oil, long oil change periods, oil dilution and the life span of the DPF. Not all particles will be burned during regenerations. The SAP elements in the oil will build up. This will over the years result in Increasing DPF pressure , more frequent regens and stress on the engine. Shorter oil change periods and the right spec oil will help to keep the engine (and the turbo's!) healthy and might reduce the risk of a crankshaft failure. This is not hard evidence, but common technical sense. RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Lux RRS 3.0 TDV6 gone LR 3 HSE V8 gone DiscoveryII V8 Gone Discovery 1 V8 Gone Mustang Shelby Alfa Guilia (classic) |

It's a good question and you will not get an answer, which will be "the answer". That means: yes, more oil changes can help to avoid it, but you have no guarantee.

Would DPF flssh clean help reduce regen frequencies? Ie remove DPF..flash clean and put back on. |

We look after a lot of 3.0 models now. We've replaced a few engines, but these have all been on cads we haven't looked after previously, and every one has been low on oil when recovered in...
