Thank you very much for the reply, I have spoken with Pat from GAP but he cannot do anything with it until the device appears on the network so I will try an indi first, much appreciated.

If anyone is looking for a mirror to retrofit high beam assist to a pre-MY16 car then I'm selling one...

HI Edgtg I repleid on the .net site but to keep it here too I didi and ECU Scan from in the IID Config menu called Find ECU's and then did a scan ECU's from the main menu, not sure if the scan will only work on the current ECU' list it has and maybe there is a defualt list already built in my guess is that the find ecus list if stored on the tool and would be used if a new EUC had been fitted so maybe this is worht a shot (if not then we will have to keep thinking!)

Good luck If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!

I replaced my ODB port as the GAP tool could not fully connect to the CAN networks due to the contacts of my old ODB port were weak and bent

Yes US is probably the best bet, ive just PM a guy on here who might have one that could work, he is trying the same thing but I think he had one for a later car which crashed his can bus but this might work for yours as its a 2016 so the backedn software is newer than the 2014-2015 cars.

Ive pm him to look at the post so fingers crossed. No comebacks though just being a middle man!

There doesnt seem to be a big supply of them around so it was either not a poplular upgrade when new (maybe is cost alot) or the system works so well that not enough of the cars have been crashed to get stipped an put on the market.

The only other alternative is to buy a new which has no firmware and take it to a dealer and ask them to program it to you car (they will only program it for the functions the car has as part of the original spec) you can then do the retro firmware flash update etc... so you can then acitvate the new settings (that said they might work after fitting I dont know) Or you coudl ask an indy to code the new mirror to the car and do the same.

The only reason GAP say use a second hand mirror is that they cant install firmware onto a mirror and new mirror dont have any firmware installed.

This is a more expensive way mind as its a brand new mirror so it depends on if you think its worth it value wise, if you are gonna use it and keep the car for 2-3 yrs then its probably worth the investment and also it will help with the resale as lots of newer cars no LR are starting to add this as a feature so if its fitted then even though the car might be older it will still have the gadgets most new will have too.

(I fitted a wireless charger mat under the heater controls too (quite a work up) but handy and is a feature that is starting to get fitted to cars now)

good luck If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!
