If the old one can be improved, then at least spec the new one with the active rear diff and the configurable Terrain Response. And fit the best tyres that will fit. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

oh defo, i mean the new one is fully pimped out from factory. But if the new one thats factory stock beats a pimped out old on then the argument of why cant we customise it becomes invalid because theres clearly no need. |

The PowerfulUK video was interesting. He really does need to learn what the various TR options do. Sticking it in rock crawl and then charging at the obstacle defeats the purpose of rock crawl. Rock crawl is about very low speed, maximum articulation, maximum traction control, loads of low down torque. And it works well if you use it accordingly.

Yes he is new to off roading and is learning what the settings do.
TFL is USA were going to do this. Purchased a basic model $54K 2 litre, however ECU light came on (misfire) and LR couldn't get to the bottom of it. They have ended up with a 6 cyl hybrid high spec model. (it does have the software option for off roading) |

let's not even speculate what would have happened to the occupants had this been a "Real" Defender

My (leased) sport is going back shortly and I've replaced it with a defender commercial. Having been an owner of 3 "old" style defenders in the past, I have to say the new one drives brilliantly, and the various offroad "aids" work extremely well. As someone says above, no need to charge at obstacles, it'll just go over them with decent tyres. |

Say what you want about the ND, but its safety is undeniable: https://www.facebook.com/groups/7845373949...755778183/
