They are not cheap these day's but the Gap Diag. tool is worth it's weight in gold if you intended to keep the vehicle some time, only need a few visits to a dealer just to have codes read and paid for itself, always a good second hand market for them as well. I believe you can purchase a new licence for it relatively cheaply if you change to a different L/R vehicle.

This is the one most guy's on the forum go for I believe, the BT version, you might need to shop around a bit as they do vary in price a little, it really isn't difficult to use, but that is easy to say if you know how to use it, there is a quite comprehensive user manual goes with it, their customer service is second to none in my experience and Patrick at Gap is extremely helpful if you have a problem. If you wanted to PM me a e-mail address and I could send you a PDF of the manual if you wanted to have a look first.

You don’t have a IPM B so that shouldn’t be applicable. Just check under the passenger seat for a silver box. It shouldn’t be there but if it is, there’s a bigger issue at play. I’ve got a feeling that these may be separate faults here but maybe attributed to one common occurrence. Heavy rain, power surge or something like that. The only interaction these systems have is over the CAN and at the head unit for display. Normally tapping the reverse camera image will switch it to the graphic for parking aid display. What I don’t understand is why they won’t activate automatically or manually which is why I’m thinking it’s either separate faults with a common cause or a CAN BUS fault for the switching. I don’t know any reason for a corrupted video image on the screen other than a ![]() 2012 5.0 SC AB. As I said not a auto electrician and may have read the diagrams wrong, but this appears to be a common earth point between the rear view camera front parking sensors and the dash switch, so may be worth having a look at, although as I said could be way off base.

Hi Col! This looks like a good starting point. Base of the D pillar - is this the one behind the nearside rear light cluster that was mentioned in another thread in 2017?

Agh yes, good spot, C2924T is the ring termination for the camera and C2922T is the ring termination for the parking aid module, all on the same earth post.

Just realised, mis-read terminal number C2568T thought that was the earth connection for the dash switches as well, but I see that is C2598 and is at bottom of R/H "B" post.

Update - sensors and camera still not fixed due to the specialist at Loughrans being off for a few weeks. Oddly, started the car tonight and whilst in park the camera suddenly sparked into life - with parking lines, etc. Very odd. Only did it the once but at least I know the camera itself is not completely dead |

Last night it worked after I had just been in the boot so definitely worth a try. Thanks Brit! There is no replacement for displacement - W O Bentley

How ridiculous is that, it’s got to be a software driven issue for the reverse camera to not work because of a front sensor failure. After all, you can have rear sensors only with a camera! 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

I’ve the same problem. I think it’s a bad rear parking sensor and have one ordered.
