Check to see if your mirrors drop and you get your reversing lights on when you select reverse. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Thank you Brit Plumber - mirrors drop and reversing lights on. Codes read by Loughrans at Towcester suggests possible problem with the image processing control module (?). Loughrans are having it in next week and all suggestions in advance welcome please! There is no replacement for displacement - W O Bentley

Hi Col! Will check number 31. Would that take out the sensors as a consequence? (Fingers crossed) There is no replacement for displacement - W O Bentley

To be fair don't really know, not being a auto electrician but looking at the wiring diagram for the rear view camera it would appear to be basically controlled by via the front screen somehow there is no mention of it going through a control module, and if it is the single camera not surround it has no "intelligence" so there are no fault codes for it that can be read by L/R at least, so not really sure where the connection with the parking sensors is maybe when reverse is engaged somehow.

If you have surround cameras then the IPM B (image processing module B) is under the passenger seat (RHD cars) of 2010 to 2012MY. If the fuse for this blows, you will get a warning for camera system fault on the dash and the parking sensors still work.

Thanks Brit - I only have a reversing camera and parking sensors. The car was built May 2012 according to the sticker under the bonnet. I looked this morning at the 5 amp fuse 31 and it appears to be intact. Does that help?

Dont rely on how the fuse looks, I had one that looked fine and I was pulling my hair out until I eventually replaced it and everything worked again. Try replacing it with another fuse as it’s a quick check to do.

Thanks again. Have just swapped fuses 51 (steering wheel buttons) and 31 as both 5 amps. Steering g wheel buttons still work after swap and rear camera plus front and rear sensors still out of action.

As an aside I noted that fuse 31 also deals with the auto wiper sensor. Driving the car this morning the auto wiper is fine. There is no replacement for displacement - W O Bentley

Try checking in the diagnostic screen for a camera image. If you look on YouTube you should find out how to do it if you don’t know.

Hi again Brit - I've accessed the diagnostic screen I think. Here are the screens available:

I’ve been through the diagrams and I can find nothing in common to both systems other than the CAN indirectly.

Thanks - the very odd thing is that they both occured at the exact same moment. Squaring myself in a parking bay I reversed (with rear camera and parking sensors), pulled forward to straighten up, and then as selected reverse again the warning came up saying no camera (plus suddenly had no parking sensors).
