Spare Key?

2006 Sport. Is it possible to have a spare key cut without going back to Land Rover? It wouldn't necessarily have to perform all the functions, just open the door via the door handle and start the ignition. Andrew Kennedy

you can take a photo of the key blade, and then use keys in the post off ebay, who will send you a metal cut blade.

This however will not start the car. You also need the case and electronics. If you have an IID this can programme keys or people are trying an actal which is around £50

IID is better if you can afford it

I used them for create a second key and programmed it myself with the IID tool. Key worked fine although it required a squirt of WD40 and its been fine since. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

Would not advise WD40 in ignition barrel/key, use a Graphite Powder if it is sticky, as the WD40 will gum it up over time.

Cheers
