I am looking to possibly upgrade my 2014 headlights to the new 2018 - 2020 Matrix headlights. Has anyone got these and have any pics etc. Many thanks guys!

Have you checked whether the "matrix" element will work.

I would have thought without the array of sensors & cameras, they may just be LED lights, rather than fully functional? Now

As far as I am aware they will work but would need coding?

To fit the 18-20 headlights into a early L494 you will also need wings,grilll & probably bumper. Andy.

Here’s matrix LED’s on my 19MY.

Having experienced both I'd be very surprised if the sensor of a 2014 car would be able to cope with the amount of object processing that the new matrix lights can be seen doing at night. The sensor controls a curtain of vertical light columns that make up the full beam, it is seriously impressive to see it in action as you can see the car thinking.. keep doing the research but my bet is that there is a lot of software and scanning that is beyond scope of the earlier pre my18 model P400e HSE Portofino Blue and Ivory Seats.. it's like a yacht!!

Scrumps, it looks to me that you have the LED Pixel lights, as I see four modules. The LED Matrix lights ‘only’ have 2 modules. Small point, and I doubt would affect any retro fit, but the Pixels are certainly superior in terms of more varied beam patterns, so it’s worth recognising that fact!  L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... I have seen them fitted to an older model so it can be done (see here - eBay item number eBay Item No. 143694487565) but unsure what functionality you get from them ?

Don’t forget,it’s not just the headlights you are changing,you also need wings,bumper & grill like the one in the eBay link you posted.I looked into this after I’d fitted the my19 rear bumper I wanted to fit front bumper & that is when I found out everything on the front end needs changing as it’s totally different to the older L494. Andy.

I have to say my 18MY with the newer pixel LED's is amazing to see at night. I had a new windscreen and Autoglass didn't fit the forward view camera back properly and it broke so many systems on the car (headlights, autonomous braking etc), its amazing what that camera controls!
