Col,ive hardwired it into the RS the correct way but it’s flattening the battery over night,if I disconnect the yellow wire will the cam still work,but only when car is running/ignition on. Andy.

Andy, No not if you just disconnect it, If I remember right you will have to connect it to a Aux/Ign. as well then it will switch on and off with ignition, surprised it flattens the battery though, never had that problem, what setting have you got the power save feature set to?

I’ve got the power setting to highest 12.4 volts I think,I’ve never had problems with the one in the sport.So I need both wires to the ignition live.?
I even turned the motion sensor off to see if that solved the problem,but it didn’t Andy.

Yeah, that way it should be just the same as if you were plugging it into a cigarette power socket. Strange that never had battery go flat at all.

The car hasn’t been used much before I bought it so it could be the battery that either needs a good charge or it could be kerput.I took it for a good run yesterday but I don’t know how these new batteries charge,I put my Sealey battery charger/booster starter (old one must be over 30 years old) On it last week but the lad who fitted the ghost immobiliser said that old charger is no good for today’s batteries so it looks like I need to invest in a new one. Andy.

That's a very strange issue. I'd be inclined to think that the F770 was faulty but it's obviously your old one so presumably its OK. So, that battery does look a bit suspicious.

SWMBO has a Saab 93 and its started to become a real pig if left unused for more than a few days. Battery goes flat. New battery fitted - no change. I've put an ammeter in the battery circuit and removed each fuse at a time to see if I can spot a battery drain but can't see it. Off to the GM dealer who checked it over. They said there's nothing wrong with the car circuitry and fitted a new battery. That went flat after 5 days just last week. Booking it in this week for further checks.

So, is it possible to put an ammeter in series with the power lead(s) to your F770 to see what sort of battery drain it registers?

Car started this morning so its not the battery,as I disconnected dash cam last night,the dashcam im using has been in a drawer for over 12 month,the one in the sport is still in it so you could be right it could be the dashcam faulty. Andy.
