I’ve got a 13 plate 3.0ltr SDV6 Black edition with 78k on the clock and it’s never had a fault only servicing has been consumables, ie one set of front discs and both sets of pads while I’ve had it also, ARB bushes paid for by Warranty Direct. Original battery, albeit regularly maintained by my CTEK charger.

Be careful of the small print in the warranties of cars over 6 years old

What is it about Overfinch that you desire? They often just add bodykits to mid spec vehicles so you're paying a lot for window dressing. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Reading about the crankshaft and other large failures, lack of warranty cover, and general reliability, I think I am going to pass now on the RRS. Shame. |

I was in exactly the same boat as you. I've wanted a RRS ever since the company i worked for sent us on a team building day back in 2008 i think, one of those Land Rover Experience days.

That's a valid point, however, do you have cover if you do get a large failure? What's an RRS1? |

RRS1 is the original RRS - L320. There was a facelift of it in 2010 which lasted until the aluminium-based RRS2 came out in 2013/14 - the L494. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Yeah its the RRS1. Paid £19k for it so similar to you. I don't believe in voluntary insurance, put £100/month in an account and if you have no faults (which most people don't) after 5 years you've got £6k! If something goes wrong you've got the money to pay for it, if something doesn't go wrong you've cash on the hip. Its win-win. I've got a credit card with plenty of room for unexpected issues.
