I was wondering if anyone has completely disabled the parking sensors on 2006 RR Sport please?.
I have a gap iid tool and I've turned off the parking aid but when I put the car into reverse I still get the long beep and flashing led on the button.
There's no sound and no led when going into drive at all but I wanted to completely disable all of the sensors and the flashing led.
The live scan shows a fault on the outer rear sensor, could that be why it can't be completely disabled?

Why not just replace the sensor and have a fully working system? Or see if the system has a dedicated fuse and pull that. But fixing it rather than fudging it would seem the right option. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thank you for the reply, I will be replacing the faulty sensor as soon as possible to get the system functioning correctly but in the mean time I thought I would be able to completely disable them using my iidtool.
The iidtool has updated the cluster to enable clock display and also updated my gearbox firmware to hopefully help with the dreaded shunt at low speeds, I just wondered if any iidtool gurus could tell me if I'd done the parking aid disable function wrong as I still get the long beep and fleshing led in reverse.
When I scan the ECU's the parking aid is listed as " not present" so I thought I'd done it correctly but I still get the annoying beep an flashing led in reverse.
I might have to live with it until I get round to replacing the sensor unless anyone has any suggestions?

It sounds like you selected rear only fitted.
Could be a fault with the iid software.

There's a fuse somewhere (on left I think) and removing that disables front/rear sensors and annoying beeps very well

I did this when I got my car 8 years ago and still haven't bothered to try and fix the sensors, never had any problem parking for sure.

I think the fuse removal method might be the way to go in the short term lol...
I've tried all the configuration with iidtool just in case it was something simple but whatever I try the reverse beep and flashing led is consistent, thanks for your help with the fuse idea matey

Could try Fuse 36 5amp behind passengers side glove box.

Cheers Col, its got to be the fuse removal for the moment - Patrick @ GAP has confirmed that the beep will still be present if there are any faulty sensors even if you disable the parking aid with the iid tool , it is a self test kind of thing that still reports a visible and audible warning if there are any faults on the system.
At least ive got to the bottom of it now
