Ok will do just not really sure what to have checked trying to get my head around what part of dynamic stability control system would be getting triggered buy the wheel and tyre swap as you said other people are using them

If the old wheels tyres are fine then your new wheels cause an issue, the new ones if you get them balanced at a place you trust if they are way out they will tell you there maybe a buckle in the wheel, its just odd that your original wheels have no issue but your new ones create a problem, if you had any system faulting i would presume it would fault with either set of wheels on.

I personally think it's to do with the traction control and the tyre size stored in the CCFs.

I'm running 275/55R20s and adjusted the CCF after I had had the traction control activating on R/A or hairpin turns for no reason.

The problem is that due to the larger rolling circumference when the wheel size isn't adjusted the car 'recognises' a ghost problem with the traction control as the parameters for activating the Traction Control are met and the system brakes the inside wheel.

Once I set the wheel size to as close as possible to my actual size (couldn't use actual as this caused other errors) the system seemed to 'learn' the new parameters and had no further problems.

Just my 2 pence worth. 2006 RRS S/C CONSTANTLY under modification...

I’m in agreement with above, if you look at my CCF posted on page 2 you will see the Dynamic Rolling Radius parameter. I think this should be changed, hence the request for the VIN of the donor vehicle. Effectively the wheel speed sensor values don’t match the overall radius of the wheel. I would not be surprised if fitting the correct size tyres to the new rims (to return to the correct radius) would sort this. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

I don't know how accurate these tyre/wheel comparison charts are, but I changed from 275/40 x 20" to 275/45 x 21" which is apparently 53mm larger diameter than the originals. It didn't make a blind bit of difference certainly didn't cause T/C/DSC activate, and certainly never changed anything in the CCF files, the only thing it changed was it made the speedo about 99.9% accurate and that was over four years ago.

It's worth a try I suppose. I'm running the L494 tyre size (255/55/20) without changing the CCF with no problems. No harm in giving it a go to see if it resolves the issue. Kev

Hi guys thanks for all your time I don't have the VIN for the donor vehicle but could get one off a brand new car from showroom they are still using these wheels is the CCF easy to get into or do you need specialist equipment have access to a code reader from a friend and with that do you enter actual Road rolling radius or some other value

Here’s a comparison of the tyres in question, originals on the right.

Perhaps a combination of increased radius and reduced width is giving a smaller contact surface area and causing ABS to activate. Can the original tyres be fitted on the new rim?

Original tyres have had it and wheels shabby hence the reason for the up grade could try different tyre on new wheels to achieve same rolling radius as old ones but don't think I can go as wide new wheels are eight and a half J old wheels and 9 and a half J so think I would have to stick with the 255 width but it means spending a load of money to find out this CCF thing sounds like it might be a winner just have to to find access to the equipment I need would I be able to use an OBD2 reader or is it something more complicated than that have access to an icarsoft one

10% size difference is well within the change you can get with 4x4 tyres from wear.

That said you are starting 10% bigger so maybe that is the issue after all. 2012 SDV6 HSE (technically its hers)

No not yet still working on it have a wheel bearing to change and have a sneaking suspicion despite being sure I was right that one is the tyre pressures might have been low so when I refit it will be super careful that everything is spot on will post how I get on playing with it this week
