England 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Java Black
Power steering problem

Hi I have a 2010 rrs tdv6 and the power steering is ok one minute then it goes tight and notchy then back to light again . Have checked fluid level and belt tightness and both ok has anyone got an idea what to look for

Not sure if this is relevant for your car, but similar issues on my truck and the cure was lubricating the lower steering coloum universal joint, initially with WD40, then when it was deemed to be the 'problem' heavier lubricating oil.

Hi Dave B I had a look at the bottom uj joint on the column this morning and it looked a bit dry so sprayed with wd40 and it has helped a great deal so I will take it off and give it a good bit of lube

You're welcome.

Some might suggest putting a smear of grease on it, but grease will just attract dust and dirt, so my advice is don't.
