Charging system fault

Hi All,
2010 3ltr v6 diesel.

Charging system fault came on dash board the car then stalled checks battery 9.3volts, charged battery overnight car started but no charge going to the battery, voltage voltage dropping slowly.

I suspect the alternator is shot and needing replaced.

Could it be anything else?

Thanks for looking

HH

Hi Gogsy1956. It was the most obvious for normal cars wasn’t sure about the sport I will get it changed asap.

Hi Brit Plumber, all belts are okay and well tensioned all connectors are tight and in place. But I like your thinking

Cheers guys

If the battery has got that low then you'll need a new battery too. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks RRSTDV8 I was hoping to get away with the battery but it makes sense to replace the battery as well.

Cheers
