I would think so.

As long as it ends up at the thin blue wire on the car.

I don't know if you intend to use the analogue radio, but if you do, make sure the ariel amplifiers are being powered up via the blue wire

So I've just had a reply from connects2 and they say the aerial they supply in the kit I have bought is a passive aerial and doesn't require power

Probably don't need to connect the blue wires then? 2008 RRS 2.7TD in Stornoway grey, black leather and 22 inch alloys

What aerial do they supply? A DAB one?

The car needs a supply on the blue wire for the analogue aerial to work.

If you are using the cars aerial cable, you need to connect power the blue wire

Na they just provide a piece of aeriel cable with a connector at each end to link between original aerial cable and then plugs into the head unit. On the original loom the blue wire lines up with the blue on the adapter harness and when I connect that to the auto antenna blue wire from the stereo it makes no difference. Its weird I can pick up radio 1 and radio 2 crystal clear but the local radio stations it's awful as if there's no signal 2008 RRS 2.7TD in Stornoway grey, black leather and 22 inch alloys

Is it the blue on the larger block or the one on the smaller block? I would think the blue on the smaller block is for the Aux input? 2008 RRS 2.7TD in Stornoway grey, black leather and 22 inch alloys

Well it’s not a switch feed on the harness so the battery will go flat.

Unless you connected a wire from the cigar lighter. You could connect that up

the yellow is a permanent feed and stays 12volt when ignition switched off, the red drops to zero when ignition off.

I have a few things to tweak, do you know what colour wire is for the illumination as mine doesn't light up when lights switched on and there is an illumination wire from the back of the head unit.

The adapter for the key switch 1,2 and key ground only works on the phone buttons on the steering wheel but the volume buttons don't so will need to go back to connects2 to ask them what to do as there are various coloured wires you have to leave or cut depending on model of head unit but we are getting there 2008 RRS 2.7TD in Stornoway grey, black leather and 22 inch alloys

No illumination wire on landrover connector.
Connect to cigar lighter light.

Can’t help with steering wheel buttons. Except they are the LR grey wires.
I would guess there are settings on the head unit?

oh yeah that's a good idea, im sure the original stereo lights up when the lights are turned on so surely that would indicate there would be a wire for illumination but doesn't matter as you say can connect to the cigarette lighter. I have tried looking through wiring diagrams but cant seem to find anything on the head unit

Yeah there are settings on the head unit to setup the steering wheel controls but the only one that is working is the phone dial button 2008 RRS 2.7TD in Stornoway grey, black leather and 22 inch alloys

Lights on and ignition on messages come across the can bus to the LR headunit.
