TST Instrument Cluster Retrofit

So off the back of Buckster's Comment that James on the Disco3 forum had figured out how to install a TFT instrument Cluster, I'm giving it a go....

So far...

Hardware Bought
Instrument Cluster out (This was a pain in the a$$!)
Taken the data off of both EEPROM chips
Sent to James to configure

In the meantime I'm trying to compare the two to see if I can do a test in the morning...this really isn't a simple thing to do by any means. Kudos to James to figuring this out here:

Well I have the new cluster working in the car, airbag light on. car starts which shows that the panel is working otherwise it wouldn't.

James will be helping me out later on so hopefully will have it working later today.

It's in......the panel underneath needs some aligning and it was an absolute pig to fit.

It looks awesome though, everything works including ACC, just need to change the rwv counter with iid tool.

Looks good but do you have a problem in the driver info display as it looks like the graphic is corrupted - it doesn’t show any car behind the centre diff in the last 2 photos 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I think I can see the drive train showing but it’s white and so is the roof of the RR car icon so virtually disappears 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

You right, it is there but the white on white doesn't make it very visible.

Looks great, few questions

What programmer did you buy to read the eeprom

How much does James charge to modify the dumps ?

Does the rev counter modification require iidtool to modify the file ? or can you use ssd.

Also love the Tesla style dash . Did you contact the manufacturer to see if they would do a RHD model ?

You will need these two:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B072HFDVRY?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0713V5GGL?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

PM sent about James.

I haven't used an ssd but essentially the CCF file needs to be modified, I have had to ask GAP for access to the full CCF and bootloader.

Regards: Tesla - I certainly did, I tried to get a RHD version, I tried to get the CAD files to print a RHD version and find the factory that makes them with no luck. When I get time to do mine I should have a mold that others can use also. Will keep you posted.

Hi,

may I ask you to share with me / us more information about the changes and your version of RRS?

It would be great to know that, what kind of modification made with the wiring, instrument cluster connection and etc.

I am fancy to the get installed an L405 instrument cluster in RRS 2008.

Any advise much appreciated.
