The driver side side step has an area of worn paint. I should have picked this up when I picked the car up but in my excitement I didn't even notice. Has anyone repainted their deployable steps before? MY15.5 HSE - SDV6 - Santorini Black

It's the first job I did - I noticed you have a 15.5my - is your RRS still under manufactures warranty if so there is a bulletin & they should be replaced FOC. If not they are easily removed - 2 hex bolts at front & 2 at rear hold them to the deployable brackets. I had mine stripped & repainted with a flexible paint used on truck beds - anti slip.

Top tip - don't put the Sport into access mode with the deployable steps on - it's ok when stationary but when slowing down or going up or down ramps you will rip them off

If there is a little wear on these deployable side steps due to wear eg. Standing on them is this covered by the 3 year warranty too ?

On my 2016 sport they are pretty much immaculate apart from a tiny Bit on the driver's side !

Was going to touch this in but if I can get this done on warranty I will

The bulletin is LTB00722 - ' Side Step Paint Delamination ' - give your stealer a bell & quote the reference & your concerns.

My car sat at the dealership since March and the side step is something I should have picked up. I’m going to call them anyway and quote the bulletin, I’m going to say it’s sometbing that should have been sorted under warranty. MY15.5 HSE - SDV6 - Santorini Black

It only had a tiny bit of wear but I just wanted it changed. They done it with no problems at all

Hi Thomas, would you be so kind as to post a photo or send a pm of the wear on your steps?
I brought this one up with my local dealer but they have rejected the claim as they say this is 'wear and tear' and not covered under warranty.

Would be interested to see how your steps compare with mine

I would post you some pictures mate but I'm afraid I never got any with the wear on them as soon as it went to my dealer they changed them when I mentioned it. I will look later though just in case I did get some photos by accident

It was just a tiny bit of wear where you get in and out on them. They said it shouldn't wear as it has a special coating on them and if it comes off in the 3 year manufacturer warranty it will definitely be covered.

This will be covered by your 3 year warranty but not so sure on the approved 2 year warranty as this seems hit and miss with different dealers ?

What's the age of yours ?
