They are the ones i fitted in mine, rather bright to match my side lights.

I wired them using a relay from an ignition live off the fuse box, cant remember which one, basically wired the ignition live to the relay, then (used to have) the live from the side lights wired to the relay, so that soon as you turned the sidelights on it pulled the switch inside the relay which then turned off the drls. But then i decided i wanted them on together so i just disconnected that side light live from the relay. So now the drls are operating 100% of the time soon as the ignition is on. They were fitted in January this year and still working perfectly

If you have access to a Gap Diagnostic IID BT tool, you can set DRL option on, and wire them into sidelights wiring, choose whether to wire with or without having them on, I prefer them on, choice of countries to pick from, as not compulsory in U.K. Use Scandinavia or similar. John

Johnski just to confirm if I wire them to the side lights and with the aid of an IID tool I can have the side lights and drl's permanently switched on with ignition by changing the lights settings to Scandinavian? RRS SUPERCHARGED, 22 INCH ALLOYS, JAVA BLACK, FULLY COLOUR CODED

If you activate any of the DRL options in the CCF files it will also switch on Dipped Headlights and Tailights, there is no facility to just switch on Sidelights when just Ignition Switched on.

I have gone into the CCF files previously and there are three options listed.

1. DRL Standard
2. Scandinavian
3. Canadian

I activated Standard and all that did was give me two Fault Codes B124A-15 and B124B-15 which are Left and Right Daytime Running Light open Circuit but no working DRL's so it may be when you have either DRL lamp kit VPLSV0064 or 65 fitted you may have to activate this but that is purely a guess.

De-activated that and then activated Canadian and what that did was nothing with ignition on and Engine Running, however when you engage Drive and let the Park Brake Off it Switched Front and Rear Side Lights and Dipped Headlights On, as soon as you apply P/B and take it out of Drive It switches them Back Off.

Again De-activated that and Activated Scandinavian and what that did was as soon as you Start Engine it Switched on Front and Rear Sidelights and Dipped Headlights.

Cheers
Col

I've been a bit unsure of fitting DRL's myself since finding out the bumper needs cut, but your pics look great so I think I will do it.

Do you have any pics of the hole after it was cut, and any closer pics of it finished? Any tips/advice for doing it, or is it just a case of getting a hacksaw out and cutting?

Thanks

Hi insiorc

The fitting was quite straight forward, I marked out were I wanted the DRL's to sit them then drilled 4 small holes in each corner and then used a hacksaw to cut out the hole.

Sorry I never took any pics. When cutting the hole make sure to cut it a few mm smaller to get a tight fit. I couldnt use the bracket/holder that came with the kit as there was no were to screw bracket onto so just made the hole a couple of mm smaller for a tight fit and then bonded the DRL's from behind so there not going to fall out.

Just found this thread which is exactly what i want to do with mine, did any of you have to take the bumper off to cut the hole and bond them in? I think tiger seal will do with it been black. Do they stay on at night or have you dimmed them some how?
