If it was the switch, wouldn`t it go off as soon as I locked it....and also, wouldn`t I have a bonnet open message on the display? Steve. |

No, not always. They have a tendency to be working one minute, and then causing alarms at random times when locked. Very simple to change, you tube vids available if you do a search. |

Ah right ok matey. I`ve just had a quick look after washing it...I assume the switch is behind the grill?

Yep, take the grille off, the switch is on the offside catch (drivers side) Whip the two torx screws out to loosen the catch assy, don’t lose the little plate. Unplug the lead to the switch which is under the catch, using a small screwdriver, prize out the knackered switch. Fit the new switch to the catch and refit the plug. Using the witness marks to help you align the catch assy, fit back on to the body not forgetting to fit the little plate.

No problem, happy to help Steve. PS, did my front discs/pads this morning. Easy job and so far, touch wood, no squealing dragging brakes. |

After having my rears done, I get a rotational squeak now and then, drives me mad |

Changed the switch just now. Probably would have been ok just to give it a good clean but, it`s swapped now. Fingers crossed that`s fixed it. This is what the old one looked like... ![]() ![]() |

Did changing the catch solve it?
