I have been trying to find out if the RRS 2006 is wider than a land rover discovery3 and if the drivers seat position is the same height, can anyone help ?

I would say having moved from a disco 3 to a RRS that it feels a bit smaller and mine is a bit lower on the drivers seat but mine is the supercharged but it is every bit as comfortable probably a lot more Thumbs Up

Hello Murphy,

To my knowledge, the RRS is slightly shorter than a D3, but the width is the same.

The seating DOES feel slightly lower, but I am not sure if that is because the roofline is lower and makes it feel like this.

Comfort is certainly excellent, and I agree with Geoffsnook that the RRS is probably much more than the D3.

Not sure if there is any difference between the ride height of the supercharged version and normal versions though. I didn't think there was, but I may be wrong.

Nick

Sorry, but I have found other values for the Discovery:
Length 4,829mm
Height 1,882mm
Width (inc. mirrors) 2,200mm
Wheelbase 2,885mm

This makes is the same width as the RRS, but is lower (roofline is lower) and shorter.

Thank you all for the reply's
BJH1959 your answer makes the RRS wider than the Disco3 by 250mm (10 in)
nebc100 you make them both the same width
I have found some spec on Parkers which make the RRS 2170 wide and the Disc3 2190
so I think the best thing to do is sit in a Disco3 and see how it feels

It can't be 10 inches wider. It's not possible!

I think that the difference is actually because some measurements are including mirrors, and some without.

The difference in width is minimal - inside width is basically the same. The RRS is shorter because the wheelbase is shorter. The drivers sear sits basically the same in both cars - differences are in adjustments available in different trim levels. My seat is adjustable up and down as are some D3 seats. Driving position is the same but feels different because of the upright nature of the D3 dash. 07MY RRS TDV6
